John Brittain

Professor at University of the District of Columbia Law School. Formerly, John was  professor emeritus at UConn Law School and dean of the Thurgood Marshall Law School, Texas Southern University, and chief counsel of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. He has been president of the National Lawyers’ Guild, a member of the Executive Committee and the Board of the ACLU, and legal counsel to the NAACP at the local level and national office of the General Counsel. The NAACP honored John with the prestigious William Robert Ming Advocacy Award for legal service to the NAACP without a fee.
